NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS

NEW SCS Logo & Website!

You’re looking at our fabulous new logo and new website design by Carl Greene and Andre Grewe. Thank you, Carl & Andre, for putting up with us and creating a beautiful and cohesive website out of the bits and pieces we gave you!

Please take care to visit About Us – Images to see photos of SCS campers at YMCA Camp Nissokone in Oscoda last summer. All of these youngsters attended camp for two weeks.

Please scan further in the News section to find out how to run or walk for SCS in the Big House Big Heart Run on Sunday, April 15 and participate in the Annual Summer Camp Scholarships Golf Benefit on July 21.

And for those of you who are interested in the mechanics and history of the National Free Lunch Program, we have that, too! Click on the Who Is Eligible? tab.

Summer Dreams 2011

Help send a child to camp

On Sunday, May 13, the Detroit Free Press will include their annual personal-interest insert called Summer Dreams. For more than 19 years, the paper has featured charities which serve special children during the summer months and Summer Camp Scholarships has been selected for inclusion this year!  Not only will there be a professionally-written article about SCS but there will also be photos taken by a pro of one or two of our campers at home at play.

The piece will also list our website for donations. If you don’t subscribe, be sure to buy a copy of the Detroit Free Press on May 13!
