organization matches a student who is in 4th or 5th grade with a 2-week camp session. In 2009, we sent sixty 4th and 5th graders from Willow Run Community Schools to camp for two weeks. We believe every child should attend camp for two consecutive years, so every 4th grader who attended in 2009 will be invited again in 2010. In 2010 we will offer a 2-week camp experience to: ¨ every 5th grader who attended last year as a 4th grader; and ¨ as many 4th graders as we can afford. Children with special needs or requests can be accommodated and are encouraged to apply. To the extent possible, children will attend camp with classmates. Friends or siblings who want to attend together can indicate their preference in the appropriate space on the registration form. We have formed a permanent and exclusive partnership with YMCA Camp Storer near Jackson, Michigan. Camp Storer, which is one of the best managed and well equipped camps in the country, has been serving children and their families for over 90 years. |

Every young life deserves to be enriched by the camp experience, and the mission of Summer Camp Scholarships, a 501(c)(3) human service agency, is to provide this opportunity to all children in Washtenaw County, regardless of income.
