Testimonials

From a camp director

Thank you again for providing these kids with this opportunity. They inspired our staff last year with their genuine excitement for trying new experiences and learning new skills. I simply love that these kids were able to experience camp like any other kid can do.  Well done!

From social workers

He told me how much he enjoyed camp and how it changed his life. He went on to tell me that he had a different attitude. Camp was the first place in his life that everything seemed fair to him in terms of how he was treated. He especially loved the food and couldn’t believe he could eat as much as he wanted.

I remember thinking how happy I was for him but wondered how long his new attitude would last. It did last and he had a wonderful year academically and behaviorally.

From campers

I went to camp for two weeks on scholarship when I was in elementary school. It was the best two weeks of my life. Camp taught me to be myself and live my life with no doubts.

Camp is so fun. You get to do stuff you never did before like I got to go fishing for the first time, made lots of friends and got lots of [phone] numbers. I love camp and when I get older I want to be a CIT [counselor in training]. Camp’s the best.

Camp is fun. You can meet a whole bunch of new people like I did. You can learn a bunch of new stuff like new games. I went fishing and rode horses. I painted a picture of the horse I rode. I was scared at first of the horse and then I started to feel better. I hadn’t been to camp before and its real fun.

I really liked camp. It was my first time going to an overnight camp and it was very, very fun. I really liked how nice the counselors were. They weren’t mean or strict. I also really liked the fun activities we did. It was super cool. And I really liked the food. I was always wondering what was for breakfast or dinner and I always loved what they gave to us. It was never a disappointment. I also loved the water slide and the zipline and archery. They were all super fun things that you don’t get to do very often. I also want to say thank you so much for the amazing experience. It was very, very fun and I’m super glad I got to go.

From parents

At first, I was worried because he has never been away for so long. I called the camp mostly every day and I was assured that he was in good hands. I agree, he was in GREAT HANDS. My child and I both hope to see you guys again next summer and we both want to thank you for a great experience.

I am so glad and thankful for the great opportunity that you gave to my daughter to be part of this great program. I think it is one of the best ways for kids to be able to learn about how to be independent and know more people and be more social. So many great things. One of the best things was when I asked my daughter: how was it? She responded with a big smile and so happy. "Great", she said, "I had a great time."

I feel my daughter learned a lot from camp as far as dealing with nature. She liked canoeing which was her first time. I was very pleased with the camp, the cleanliness, the staff. The site where you can email your child and how fast they respond back. I would recommend this camp to others and I will send her for future events. Thanks for allowing her to come.

The camp was Fun! Fun! Fun! Fun! And he wants to go back to the same camp next year and stay longer. My son was so happy when he came home. He said that this was the best camp ever. It was better than the camp he attended last year. He said everything was great! I have never seen him this excited about anything. He wants to take fencing lessons, because he enjoyed it at camp. Thanks everyone for doing such a great job with my grandson and all the other children. By helping with important parts of their development of fun and skills that they can use in their future.

My daughter had a wonderful experience at camp! She talks about her experience almost every day. I can’t express enough what a wonderful time she had at camp. We hope to enroll her again next year!

I would like to thank you for giving my daughter the chance to grow without being with someone she knew. This was the first time that she went somewhere without other family members. Thanks.

My son was very excited and can’t wait till next year Thank you all for your time, talent and commitment with our youth. God Bless.
